The Coats for the Cold Outreach 2010

The Coats for the Cold Outreach was made to take your old, unwanted jackets that are taking up room in your house and to put them to good use for the winter. I plan to start collecting jacket/coat donations on Nov. 1st of each year. Once my truck is full, then I'll take a group of people (however many people want to come) and do a "Drop-Off".

2010 Emphasis
This is our first official year as Amplyfy and I want to emphasize Skid Row. Skid Row is a 50-block area in the shadow of downtown Los Angeles that has the largest concentration of homeless people in the country. There are between 8,000 and 11,000 people that live here and that population number is growing while the temperatures at night are 45 degrees and falling.

So what can you do?

Donate:
Go through your closet, attic and garage and gather up any unwanted coats, jackets or scarfs and e-mail me @ amplyfy@gmail.com so we can arrange a day that I can come and pick them up from you. (Unfortunately I do not have a tax ID# at this moment)

Drop-Off:
If you'd like to go with us to the 2010 Emphasis: Skid Row to hand out the donated jackets/coats then you are more than welcome to join us. The drop-off is an eye-opening experience and I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to experience first hand of what the homeless deal with on the streets of Skid Row on a daily basis. Stay tuned for 2010 Drop-off date...
