Ever since I was a child, I wanted to help the homeless. I didn't understand why they didn't have a home, why they showed no emotion on their face or why some of them didn't even say thank you when my mom or dad bought them food... so who are they? Why are they there? Better yet, What can I do?
I never lived through any hardships in the ghetto. My family never went without a meal or faced unbearable hardships. I've never known someone who was murdered or someone that has served time in jail. I have been blessed to have the things I have and to live the life that I live...now it's time to give back.
I draw inspiration from the millions of people out there that give themselves freely to a cause with hopes only to make a difference. To make change. To give sight to the unseen. I see so many non-profits and charities giving to the needy over seas in Haiti, Africa, Asia etc. and my endless applause goes out to those that do that. But there is also much needed much closer to home.
We all see them; the same old homeless guy walking down PCH every day completely out of his mind as we speed by on our way to work. We all see that woman pushing the shopping cart full of who knows what across the street as we sit behind our big, dark sunglasses humming the latest hit on the radio. We all see the same dark faces holding those flimsy cardboard signs and we pray that we don't have to be the first person in line in the left turn lane at the intersection because they are there; two feet away from our window and everyone behind us is waiting to see if we are going to do something. Yet we do nothing. We do nothing because we are so quickly to assume they are there for a reason...and they deserve it.
So what is AMPLYFY?
AMPLYFY is about giving the benefit of the doubt to the homeless. Sure they could've been or still are drug addicts or alcoholics...they could've beaten their wives, they could've stolen from their family but does it really matter at this point? Maybe they've learned their lesson. Maybe they haven't. But who are we to decide that?
AMPLYFY clothing is built around a concept. It's a company that hopefully inspires change in each and every person that we, as a company, come in contact with. Your purchase will directly affect a person in need here in Southern California.
For every t-shirt or sweatshirt you buy, I will donate one to the less-fortunate. It's that easy.
so my question to you is...
"How will you AMPLYFY change?"
